Tobinco Wins CIMG Marketing Man
The Chief Executive Officer of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Group of Companies, Mr. Samuel Amo Tobbin on Saturday won the prestigious Marketing Man of the Year Award 2010 of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG).
Mr Amo Tobbin received the recognition at the 22nd edition of the institute’s National Marketing Performance Awards held at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra Saturday night.
PeaceFM’s drive-time programme hosted by Fiifi Banson, “Ekwanso Brebre” was adjudged the Radio Programme of The Year 2010, whiles TV3 Network Limited was named Media Organisation for the year under review.
The awards were in 31 categories: 4 Personality Awards, 3 Hall of Fame Awards, 7 Media Awards, 1 Not-For-Profit Organization Award, 14 Business Awards and 2 Product Awards.
The awards event seeks among other things, to promote high professional standards in the marketing fraternity as well as encourage excellence among marketing practitioners. It also aims to promote awareness for the marketing concept and its importance to the success of businesses.
This year’s event, which was on the theme: “Entrepreneurial Marketing-Tool for Repositioning,” was chosen in order to acknowledge the fact that the local industry consist of indigenous people, who are contributing significantly to the growth of our economy.
Mr Amo Tobbin, whose rise to fame from selling drugs in a chemical shop received a plaque, a citation and a certificate, aside other packages.
Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Airports Co. Ltd., Mrs. Doreen Owusu-Fianko, was adjudged the CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year Award.
The Executive Head, Retail Banking Division of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Adam Sulley, was also handed the CIMG Marketing Practitioner of the Year Award for successfully adding several top brands to the company’s products pool.
Ms. Yvonne Amma Manu Gyefour, a Management Trainee, Unilever Ghana was named as the Marketing Student of the Year Award.
